Foreshadow

Dear Mom,
It's great that you are so good of a mother! You will be an even greater grandmother! I like how you never let me down and always cheered me up! You are great with all of the younger family members like my cousins' kids! I have seen all the pictures of you with Aunt Chrissy's kids and you are very good in taking care of them. I will take lots of pictures of my kids and pictures of you with them! I hope that you will be willing to help me when I have a child of my own. Honestly, I want you to know something... I'm pregnant. Just kidding but I will be having a child with my wife so I want you to help us okay? Love you mom!
                          - Love,
                             Joseph

Gothic Literature Element

I believe that Supernatural is the most effective element in the Gothic Literature in Frankenstein. I believe that the story is based on this supernatural being that was created by a man who does not understand his own works. The biggest supernatural event is definitely when the monster comes to life. Victor does not know what he created and assumes it as a terrible monster. Creating life from nothing is the event that forms the base of the story and if this would not have happened then the story would lose a major character that affects every aspect of the story. If the monster had not been brought to life then Victor, the main character, would have possibly gone into a depression and withdrew from his family even more. The story would take a short turn and there would be a loss of interest.

Frankenstein Opening and My Ghost Story

Mary Shelly opened Frankenstein with four letters from Robert Walton, a sailor in the Atlantic, to his beloved sister back home in England. He told about life on the sea and in the fourth letter there was an interesting turn. Walton met a stranger who was looking for someone that had left him, and may have been seen by Walton and his crew the night before. This was intriguing to me as a reader and had made me interested in what would continue on and happen in the story. If I were writing a ghost story then I would start the story with an event before the actual story that would foreshadow what will happen or I would have an after story to make the readers interested in what will happen of what had happened.

Spring Break

Over Spring Break I hope to have as much fun as possible at Kalahari. I also hope that K-Cream Corner, where I work, has a great opening week this season as I will most likely be working over break. Going to Kalahari this weekend will be the first time that I have stayed there over-night. It will also be the first time, since my father took my cousins, friends, and myself, along with my mother, to Great Bear Lodge, when I was younger, that I have stayed at an indoor-waterpark. My mom is very excited to go and spend time with me and her friends. I hope to enjoy it. Also, I want to be able to work after I have had my fun on my vacation! I want to remember all of the things that I need to for my job, and I want many more people to be able to enjoy themselves at K-Cream with family and friends.

Superpower

If I had to choose between the ability to fly and the ability to turn invisible, I would want to be able to turn invisible. If I needed to not be seen by someone, or get out of a situation where people were trying to harm me, then I would be able to become unseen and escape. I would also be able to play basketball very well and become very good. I would also have my friend Victor, who would have the ability to fly and he would grab my arm and make me fly, I would do the same and make him invisible. Being invisible would be very fun, I would play pranks on my friends and family because I like to prank people. That is why I would want to be able to turn invisible.

OGT Advice to the Next Class

I have just taken the Ohio Graduation Test (OGT). I would like to give advice to the next class that take the test. A bit of advice that I would give, to the next class taking to test, is to listen to their teachers. The teachers have helped me for the OGTs months ahead and it helped me become prepared for the exams. I had listened and payed attention in class, and this helped me succeed. The materials and practice tests that the teachers give are very similar to questions that are on the test, so the next class should be attentive when being tought something by the teachers. The teachers want you to be successful and they want you to pass with the highest possible points. My teachers have given us portions that are off of previous OGT tests to show us what is on the test.

Dirty Situation

Being the last ones left we stared each other down. Face to face, barrel to barrel, me against him. I run out as fast as I can in mud covered boots, he sees me and tries to make his move! I hear them, coming for me trying to stop my right in my tracks. I made it, but was I tainted? Could I not have felt it? I check myself but find no problems, I made it. As I look up I catch a glimps of him, does he know where I am? As I cannot be sure I must make something happen! I aim quick and fire as fast as possible! He hears and returns fire! Back and forth we have a firefight! Who will run out first? Who will get a direct hit? I see them coming from a spot behind a piece of sheet metal. I aim for that spot and the paintballs collide with each other! I had never seen that before, but I could not admire this sight for long. So I run. Seeing the paintballs fall just short in front me I stop. Quickly aiming I shoot! I hit him! Right? I think so. I can't be sure so I hide the whistle blows and the game is over! I won! But I find out that I didn't. We just ran out of time. There was no hit, no win, just a tie, a draw. Afterwards me and my friend unite and talk about the adrenaline rush! We didn't care about the win or lack of a win. We had fun! And that was what really mattered! I had fun with my friend and was ready to go home.

Trust Me!

People do not always trust me and believe the things I tell them. Once I was with my friends and we were by our old school. There was a broken window in the backside of the school and they had the "bright idea" to say let's all go inside our old school to see what it is like! I told then that it was a terrible idea and that they would get into trouble. I said, "Trust me! You guys are going to get caught, and be in big trouble. Someone will call the cops, or an alarm will go off in the school! And you will be in trouble for trespassing." But they did not listen to me! I told them that I would be waiting outside of the school on my bike while they "explore" the school. My friends entered the school through the broken window and even turned on lights! I started riding my bike and realized my phone was ringing, it was them! They were calling to "brag" about how cool it was and that there were big soft mats in the gym that they were jumping on. I was on my bike actually outside by the gym when a police car pulled around the corner of the building and had a very bright light on me. I told my friend, "Police are here!" And the police man told me to hang my phone up and put it away. My friends came out of the door and were caught! The officer had told them that a silent alarm hag went off in the school, but they were already on their way to the school on account of a phone call from a concerned neighbor. I exclaimed, "Didn't I tell you!" There were more police men on the other side of the school, and when we went around my friends had to give their personal information but they were in no trouble because they were not stealing anything or vandalizing the school. After the incident while riding our bikes home my friends told me that they should have listened to me and that I had been right. I felt good about making the right decision in not following them into the school. All of my friends said that they were never going to do wrong again.

Paragraph 1 of Letter

10th grade students in high school have a lot of times to do. I believe that it may be the hardest year of my high school career. High school can be a wonderful time of friendship and enjoyment, or it can be a hard struggle that must be conquered. As a 10th grader myself, I know that there are many I obstacles, achievements, and goals that we will have and I want to thrive.

Least Prepared OGT Test

The OGT test that I am least prepared for is the Reading OGT test. I am a person that likes to read slowly and thoroughly when reading a passage, and this tends to give me  less time to be able to answer the multiple choice questions along with the extended response questions. To be better prepared for this test I will use the OGT practice book that my teacher has provided in my English class to study and practice different test taking skills. I will also use the many websites given to me by Mr. Jaworski, my Biology teacher, that are on a sheet of paper. The paper has information on which sites can provide help with which subjects. A lot of the sites have printable practice tests that I can take. I feel that I will be well prepared for all of the OGT tests, because my excellent teachers have equip us students with the resources that are needed to pass the tests.
